How Do I Plan a Trip?

TravelMuse is like your own personal travel assistant.

Steps to creating a plan

1. Choose one or more destinations

  • Enter your destination by typing in the box
  • Or, to plan a trip with multiple destinations click “Start here”.
  • If you don’t know where you want to go, use the Inspiration FinderTM to discover the right place for you learn more »

2. Find & Save Research

  • Discover the best things to do, places to eat and where to stay on TravelMuse or from across the Web. Save all your favorite items to the Tripfolio—think of the Tripfolio as your electronic manila folder.
  • You can now explore the most popular items saved by TravelMuse members, discover items on TravelMuse or even search the Web from within your trip plan. Save Web pages such as restaurant reviews from Yelp or an article from the New York Times to your Tripfolio.

3. Organize

With your Tripfolio now brimming with great research, you’re ready to get organized. From this screen you can see all the items by category. Easily add notes to saved items using the “Edit” button, or create your own items using the “Add Custom Event” button.

4. Schedule

It’s easy to build a day-to-day schedule of the items you’ve saved to your Tripfolio. Simply drag and drop items from your Tripfolio into the days of your trip.

If you don’t want to plan out all the details of your trip, you can skip this part and go right to the trip guide.

5. View Your Trip Guide

At a click of a button create your free personalized guide (in pdf format) based on the trip you just created. It contains your schedule and your research items. You can print it out or download it to your computer and you’re on your way. Voila! Happy travels!
