Marketing Intern

TravelMuse is looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Intern keen to get hands-on experience in helping the Marketing Director drive traffic to the newly launched travel website. This is a great opportunity for anyone who might be interested in pursuing a career in PR/marketing in the travel or technology industry. The internship requires a minimum of 15 hours per week in our Los Altos, Calif., office and pays standard internship rates.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the ongoing development and management of the PR plan and various calendars.
• Build relationships and communicate our message out to the social media(bloggers, groups and communities).
• Track press coverage attained for TravelMuse and key competitors.
• Maintain database of contacts and activity.
• Assist with other adhoc marketing communication activities at TravelMuse.

Requirements

• Currently undertaking Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism, or a recent graduate.
• Experience or strong coursework in writing, editing and marketing communications.
• Some knowledge and interest in internet culture and technology such as blogs, social media.
• Team player who can collaborate with all levels of management, as well as designers, product managers, editorial team and outside vendors.
• Organized, detail oriented, a strategic thinker and able to work autonomously in a high-speed team environment.
• Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office products and Internet.
• Be available to work in our Los Altos office at least two days a week (15 hours minimum)
• Have an interest in travel.

You will report to the Marketing Director. The position requires a four-month minimum commitment.
