Kevin Fliess

CEO and Co-Founder. TravelMuse, Inc.

Kevin co-founded TravelMuse in April 2007. His work and family life have taken him all over the world: from Tahiti to India and Canada to Mexico; Amsterdam to Turkey and the northern California coast to South Carolina islands. He’s also worked and lived in Munich, Germany. Kevin’s expertise is developing software products that simplify complex processes as well as identifying new business models and disruptive technologies in large markets. His unique background has been vital in driving company strategy and product direction.

Prior to starting TravelMuse, Kevin spent 15 years as a leader in various high technology companies, most recently as Vice President of product marketing for Emerging Solutions at SAP. In this role, he led the team responsible for market strategy for SAP Enterprise Search, Mobile Business Applications and Duet (Duet is jointly developed by Microsoft and SAP, and enables business users to access popular SAP employee self-service functionality such as travel management from within Microsoft Office). Kevin was also Director of Product Management for the SAP xApps Composite Application product portfolio and the co-inventor of the first xApp at SAP.

Earlier, Kevin co-founded an early-stage software venture in the human capital management space and transitioned himself and the development to SAP where he oversaw the successful introduction of the product into the market. He has also held positions in business development, program management, and consulting at Synopsys, Icarian and Siemens. Kevin is co-inventor on one software patent and has seven additional applications on file.

Kevin holds a BA in Politics and German from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Kevin lives in Mountain View, Calif., with his wife and two young sons.

Current dream trips: trekking in Southeast Asia, wine tasting in rural France, touring Rajasthan, India via the Palace-on-Wheels train.
