Vineyard Haven

Mansion House Inn, Health Club, Spa & Pool

Within walking distance from the ferry in Vineyard Haven, the Martha’s Vineyard Mansion House Inn is a great choice when basing yourself in town. The inn has 40 rooms and suites and all guests receive complimentary breakfast at the on-property Zephrus Restaurant. The deluxe rooms and suites have soaking tubs, galley kitchens, fireplaces and balconies with views of Vineyard Sound, so are well worth the upgrade. You also get free use of the indoor pool, spa and health club.

Oak Bluffs

Wesley Hotel

With 95 rooms in two buildings, the historic Wesley Hotel is one of the largest hotels on the island and is just two blocks from the ferry in Oak Bluffs. The Victorian-style hotel has been in operation since 1879 and is one of the first things you see as you approach Oak Bluffs Harbor by boat. You couldn’t ask for a better location—you’re steps from the public beach, as well as town.

Menemsha

Beach Plum Inn

To really get away from it all, the Beach Plum Inn is the place to go. It’s located on seven acres, with ocean views and a gorgeous garden, plus passes to the private Martha’s Vineyard beaches, Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket. There are 11 rooms, some of which are in the main house while other are in cottages.

Hostel Stay for Budget Travelers

The Martha’s Vineyard Hostel, run by Hostelling International, was one of the first hostels built on the East Coast. It offers separate dorm rooms with bunk beds for men and women, with shared bathrooms down the hall. For those looking for less togetherness, private rooms are available. A communal kitchen is available for those who like to cook their own meals.

Guest perks include 24-hour Internet access and discounts for bike rentals, yoga classes and sailing excursions. The hostel’s grounds are adjacent to a state park and a short walk from the town of Vineyard Haven. Reservations are highly recommended.

Menemsha Inn

The adjoining Menemsha Inn has 29 rooms—children are allowed to stay in select rooms. The inn has a tennis court and croquet lawn and there’s a lovely path that takes you to Menemsha Beach. The restaurant on the property is excellent. Amenities include complimentary gourmet continental breakfast and use of beach chairs, towels and umbrellas.
