Thank YOU Arvind! We enjoyed interviewing you and getting a little bit of background on your work. Our Costa Rica issue just went live today, and we have already had great feedback about your frog image! Several people have said it's their favorite of our covers so far! Thanks again!

Calista, thanks for doing the interview with me. I'm glad Travelmuse liked my pictures and decided to use them. I'm getting ready to purchase a new camera, but still can't decide between a new XTi, or upgrading to the 30D. Either way, new Flickr photos will be rolling in soon enough.

These are really cool. My MIL is a wonderful photog who travels extensively to shoot, and she uses these a lot. I'm still working on getting a 50mm lens for my Nikon. But this would be a really cool birthday gift for me - maybe I will add it to my list! After all, my husband is leaving me behind while he goes to Italy when I turn 37. A new lens is the least he can do!

Hi Amy,
Good question! I definitely know how tough it can be to carry all your camera gear with you in addition to other bags. You have a few options, but I wouldn't recommend putting anything valuable like your lens in your checked baggage. Things as big as laptops have been known to disappear, so a lens would probably be pretty easily stolen. You could consider camera armor like offered at http://www.cameraarmor.us/. That might make it easier to pack your camera in your normal carry on rather than having a separate camera bag dedicated to it. There are several options for camera bags that can be worn as backpacks, though a lot of them are broken up into many small compartments since they are designed to carry multiple lenses and bodies. Something that might work for you would be a backpack that has a camera compartment build in, but isn't designed to be dedicated to camera gear only. They are available from companies like Targus (www.targus.com), and Lowepro (www.lowepro.com). Hopefully I've answered your questions! And congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family!

These are good tips - my only question is this:

I travel with my kid, soon to be kids, and they have A LOT of gear. I usually carry a backpack, but add in the stroller, bottles of water purchased after the checkpoint, and a snack, and my hands are full. I often travel without my husband, which means I only have one set of hands.

I definitely want to take my camera with me. But my Nikon D80 with its lens and additional flash are heavy and bulky. Do you know of any bags you can wear as a backpack, or how do you feel about packing just the lens and other acessories in your luggage and just carrying the camera body?
