An Orlando, Florida resident, Edward Schmidt Jr. is a full-time, independent writer with more than 2,000 articles and columns published in international, national, regional and local publications, including the Robb Report, Travel & Leisure Golf, PGA Tour Partners Magazine, Golf Magazine, Golfweek, Golf for Women, Stratos Magazine, Private Clubs Magazine, Corporate Meetings & Incentives Magazine, The Meeting Professional Magazine and Travelmuse.com, Shark.com and PGA Tour Partners online. Widely recognized as one of the industry's foremost experts on golf travel, Schmidt is the author of three books, Florida Golf Getaways, 52 Great Florida Golf Getaways and Central Florida Visions. He's a member of the Golf Writers Association of America and the International Golf Travel Writers Association. In a twenty-four year career Schmidt's research treks for golf travel stories have taken him to obligatory golf meccas like St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Phoenix and Myrtle Beach and exotic locales around the world like China, Kenya, Tunisia, the Canary Islands, Bermuda, Argentina and Yugoslavia.
