The city of Victoria is the capital of the province of British Columbia, Canada, and is located at the southern tip of Vancouver Island. The city is a major tourist destination, especially because it acts as a cruise ship port. The Royal British Colombia Museum features three permanent galleries, an IMAX theater and rotating exhibits. Be sure to check out the giant woolly mammoth presiding over the entrance to the natural history gallery. Now named a National Historic Sight of Canada, Butchart Gardens proudly displays 55 acres of incredible floral show gardens and is an excellent way to spend the day. Stroll through the gardens at a leisurely pace and enjoy the Japanese Garden, the Italian Garden, the Sunken Garden and more.
