Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009, Tel Aviv, the second-largest city in Israel, is a modern destination in an ancient land. It’s known for its relaxed atmosphere and more liberal lifestyle compared to other cities in the country.

Located on the Mediterranean Sea next to the beautiful, ancient port city of Jaffa, Tel Aviv is the center of Israel’s booming technology industry, as well as is a hub for the country’s (and region’s) business and creative worlds. The city is also known as having an excellent nightlife scene, with well-regarded restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

High-rise hotels and apartment buildings line the waterfront, yet there are charming, older neighborhoods to walk through and explore, particular those featuring Bauhaus architecture that earned a UNESCO World Heritage Site designation in 2003.
