Plan your trip to Delhi, India

Located on the shores of the River Yamuna, Delhi is the second most-populous metropolis in India. Delhi was granted status as an independent state in 1992 and has progressed rapidly since. Teeming with political, cultural and economic activity, Delhi is where old meets new and tradition intersects with trend. Whether you are looking for historical museums or trendy nightclubs, Delhi has it all and there is no shortage of activities to choose from.

Visit the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; tour the galleries of the National Museum; or simply shop the local marketplaces and funky bazaars for the perfect souvenirs. Delhi summers are long and extremely hot, so it is advisable to visit between the cooler seasons: February through April and August through November. The city is a good jumping off point for exploring other areas of India such as the state of Rajasthan and Agra, home to the Taj Mahal.
