Best hotels, facts and information in Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre is made up of five villages dotted along approximately 11 miles of picturesque coastline on the Italian Riviera. The area is located in the Liguria region of Italy, and the villages, surrounding regions and coastline have been deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Monterosso Al Mare is the most western village and has the largest beach in the Cinque Terre region. Vernazza is a historical village full of incredible architecture and is considered to be one of the truest fishing villages in the Riviera. Located on a promontory above the coastline, Corniglia offers spectacular views of the other four villages, and it is surrounded by vineyards and terraces on three sides. Manarola is the second smallest of the villages but one of the best ones to visit if you wish to commune with the great outdoors. Its local wine, Sciacchetrà, is quite renowned. Last, Riomaggiore is famous for having many aquariums and zoos, full of native Italian animals. If you are coming from La Spezia, this is the first village you will encounter.
