Saint Lucia is an island in the Caribbean, a British Commonwealth country off the coast of Central America. It lies between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, north of Trinidad and Tobago.

Saint Lucia has a relatively large and lucrative tourism industry, attracting an estimated 350,000 visitors per year. Most tourists are attracted to the relatively unspoiled landscape and beautiful white beaches. The island is also home to the twin Pitons (Gros Piton and Petit Piton), striking cone-shaped peaks south of Soufriere that are one of the scenic natural highlights of the Caribbean.
