Sri Lanka is an island nation in South Asia, located off the southern coast of India. From the famous beaches to the lush green resorts, visitors can experience a relaxing vacation on the island or learn about its history by visiting one of the many heritiage sites, some of which are located in Colombo, the largest commercial area in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is known for its seven World Heritage Sites such as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, the Ancient City of Sigiriya and the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Sri Lanka, a center for Buddhist religion, has several buddhist temples like Gothami Viharaya and Sri Dalada Maligawa (also known as the “Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic” because it houses a surviving relic of Buddha, a tooth). Sri Lanka also has several rivers, lagoons and lakes, including Beira Lake in Colombo, where tourists can canoe and kayak. Or visitors can opt to go on an elephant expedition to see native animals in their natural environmental.
