Ensenada is known locally as ‘The Cinderella of the Pacific.’

Ensenada sits in Mexico’s Baja California region, where mild weather aids in the production of some of the country’s best wine. Also known as the Cinderella of the Pacific, Ensenada is an easy drive from the United States, which it connects to via four lane toll road MX-1D.
A major commercial and fishing port, Ensenada also welcomes many cruise ships to its deep waters. After a population boom in the 1960s, Ensenada struggled with ecological problems and pollution, but now many tourists are drawn to the area for events such as the grey whale migration to Alaska and the Ensenada Carnaval, one of Mexico’s largest.
Surf your heart out on San Miguel Beach; check out one of the world’s major marine geysers, “La Bufadora,” just north of town; come in town during November or June to watch the city’s two major off-road races—or go off-roading yourself!
