The old bus station, located south of downtown on Ninos Heroes off of Calzada Independencia Sur, provides service for destinations within 100 km (60 miles) of Guadalajara. Transportes Guadalajara-Chapala runs frequent buses and minivans from Lake Chapala. The new station, the Central Camionera is located about 20 minutes from downtown. Major bus lines including ETN (http://www.etn.com.mx) provide long-distance service that arrives at the new station.

By Car:

Four-lane toll roads connect into Guadalajara. Take Highway 15 south from Nogales on the U.S. border, Highway 80 northeast from Barra de Navidad, and toll road 15D from Mexico City. Toll roads 68D and 54D also access the city. Getting Around:

Guadalajara is much easier to get around than in most other Mexican cities. City buses run frequently on most major routes.

The subway in Guadalajara runs north and south through the Historical District and is a quick means to getting around, but has limited access to various parts of the city.

Taxis are fairly reliable and reasonably priced, just be sure the driver is using the taxi meter.
