Palm Beach is the name of a city and county in Florida's Gold Coast region, and a favorite vacation destination for beach junkies. There are over 40 miles of beautiful beaches in Palm Beach County, and the proximity of the Gulf Stream keeps the waters warm year-round.
Most of the area caters to the wealthy, such as the amenity-laden Boca Raton and gentrified Delray Beach, which has great nightlife. The easily-accessible public beach in the city of Palm Beach has lifeguards during the day, and flags that announce hazardous conditions (red for dangerous surf conditions, and purple for dangerous sea life).
For snorkeling, two places might satisfy the avid underwater explorer. One is John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, located on the north end of Singer Island. This park also has kayaking, music on Sundays, and some short hiking trails. Another great snorkeling spot is the Breaker's Reef on Palm Beach, one long stretch that juts out into the ocean.
Shuttles lifting off from Cape Kennedy are visible from the beach during both daylight and night hours, although night and early morning launches are significantly more impressive.
Take advantage of an affordable weekend in London, resort credits in Scottsdale and Cancun, and free golfing with the kids.
