Iron River, Michigan, was named for the high amount of iron mined in the city in the 19th century. Situated in the state’s Upper Peninsula, Iron River offers an abundance of outdoor recreational activities: fishing, golfing, cross-country skiing, game and deer hunting, camping and boating.
