Asheville is located in the western corner of North Carolina. The city inspires health through its abundant outdoor activities and fresh cuisine. Visit Grandfather Mountain, home to 12 miles of alpine hiking trails or the Mile High Swinging Bridge and dozens of wildlife species in their natural habitat. Also nearby are the mysterious Linville Caverns, a series of underground tunnels created by slow-moving water that has baffled researchers since its discovery in the 1800s.

Asheville is also home to George Vanderbilt’s Biltmore Estate. Originally a retreat for the family, the estate is North America’s largest private residence and was recently named one of the top 10 architectural wonders by the American Institute of Architects, joining other sites such as the White House and the Golden Gate Bridge.
