The tiny village of Los Cerrillos, which means "little hills," is part of Santa Fe County. It lies on State Highway 14, a 62-mile scenic byway also known as the Turquoise Trail, which links Albuquerque and Santa Fe. In the mid-1800s, Cerrillos was full of miners looking for turquoise, gold, silver, zinc and lead.
