Come for the slopes, stay for the culture in New Mexico’s Taos Ski Valley. The area will open for snowboarding for the first time in March 2008, joining an endless array of family activities.
Barely half a century old, the ski resort is still run by many of the same family who helped build it up, which contributes to its welcoming atmosphere.
Send the kids away for a day at on of the ski school programs, or, weekend visitors can pay only $7 for unlimited tubing rides. Enjoy a guided snowmobile tour with Big Al; or if you would rather stay indoors, $20 will get you an unlimited ticket to view seven Taos museums.
