A mid-Atlantic state rich in natural beauty and U.S. history, Virginia lies in the heart of Appalachia, and claims 544 miles of Appalachian Trail. Jamestown is the site of North America’s first English settlement in 1607; it remains as a historical attraction, preserved to showcase 18th century settler life.
