Cheap weekends in SE Asia

Hello Everyone,

I have currently relocated to SE Asia and would like to get to know the region. I am visiting a bit of Thailand so far, Vietnam next month (weekend in Ho Chi Minh)... I was just wanting to pick your brains on any budget weekends that you may have in mind for an authentic experience in any destination in SE Asia. It can be from shoestring to luxury... any tips?
