Hi there - I went through this process for my first holiday alone 4 years ago. I couldn't find any decent "singles" holidays that were brochured as such that went a little more off the beaten track and that weren't hugely expensive. Then I came across the Somak brochure and found that they covered Kenya at reasonable rates and their single persons supplement was exceptionally reasonable. So I bit the bullet....had a great holdiday - best ever. Stayed at the Travellers Club all inclusive with 1 free safari and paid just over GBP800 in August (4years ago). There was one other female single traveller there of a similar age (am assuming you are female?) and there were a couple of groups of men but I never felt as though I stood out being a lone female etc. Safaris are more expensive to book if you're on your own as the supplements are pretty high. Never had any "hassle" from men or anything - only confusion as to why a woman of a certain age had no "papa" with her!! Anyway, can highly reccomend. Good luck in your search - let us know what you decide and how it goes!!
