Along Maine’s rugged Atlantic coast, 35,000-acre Acadia National Park offers stunning views from Cadillac Mountain, the tallest peak on the eastern United States coast. Established in 1913, Acadia National Park’s 20-mile Park Loop Road offers gorgeous ocean and mountain views, 120 miles of forest trails and the Wild Gardens of Acadia showcasing 12 native plant communities.
Park activities include taking a 45-mile horse-drawn carriage ride along historic carriage routes, or a boat cruise to explore the historic sea communities of Acadia. Visitors can also partake in bicycling, kayaking, tidepooling and fishing, and winter activities such as cross-country skiing and ice fishing.
