The room was beautiful, the best I have seen in awhile. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were fabulous! Better than the 4 star hotels I have stayed in. I had the ocean view and my terrace was 30 feet from the shoreline of a small cove. I had the sound of the ocean and wind with the view of the hills and ocean. I watched the sun and moon rise over the point. It is very Caribbean, not a groomed, resort-type hotel. The staff was very friendlly and courteous. Some of the room amenities could be improved. There was no information on how to call any hotel services or the front desk, no room service menu and no alarm clock. I asked for an iron and ironing-board and had to retrieve it from the front desk. The hotel listed a sushi bar, which consisted of a few Sashimi items on the main restaurant menu, not really a Sushi bar. The above issues aside, I loved this hotel. I visit St. Maarten every 3 months and will stay here every time!

I have eaten at Captain Olivers Resort many times on past visits to the island so I was familiar with the location and layout. I had an extra night at the end of my trip so I chose Captain Oliver's. Nice quiet location, no traffic, pretty views, beautifu landscaping, and good all round service with friendly staff. The room had a private balcony with a nice view of the marina. The room itself was was more like a bungalow. For the price, what an absolute value. They even threw in two welcome drinks and breakfast. We ate dinner at the reataurant and were very pleased. I would definetely consider staying here again.

This was a nice place to stay, if you do not mind being 30 minutes from the action in Grand Cases or Marigot. Nice harbor views and lots of European yachtie types stay here at the beginning or end of a charter. Rooms were reasonable size and very clean. AC, however requires 2-3 hours to really cool your room. Beautiful pool and shuttle boat to nearby Dawn Beach or ferry to St. Barths. Piano bar in the evening with a very talented and cordial host/player/bartender. Dinner was okay, but the trumpeting salsa/rap music took away from the experience. there are some maintenence issues here-things, including the employees vehicles seem to break down regularly. Overall, a pleasant experience.

we stayed around mid july 2007,location was very nice and quiet set in a bay/cove away from all the other resorts.it has a large marina and a very nice waterfront restaurant, also a regular bar serving food and beside this was a little piano bar.before you enter the complex you will pass other restaurants located higher on the hill with nice views of the bay,but did not have time to try them.My room was large with comfortable king bed, clean and with a view to the marinafront desk staff very helpful

Location is great if you prefer to be away from the madness, which I do. Pleasent room with nice view Staff friendly, washcloths a small problem, but peaceful atmosphere. Would go back if I were ever to visit the island again..
