I had called the Fairmont system number to request a room close to the elevators, as I use a wheelchair. Also requested a roll-away bed for our...

Beautiful view and that is it. Highly recommend to stay at other hotels cause you can't see anything anyway from inside the room unless you stay in a suit by paying high price . When I stay at the high quality hotels such as Fairmont, Four Season or Ritz, I expect good service and best comfort. But, the room was worst than a motel. They had old 19" TV without movie channel and less than 6 feet wide bathroom. The bed was so old I was able to hear the squick sound. I thought I was staying at motel. Also, I had to call a maintanence because the water wasn't draining in the bathtub. Maintanence finally showed up after third request. However, the problem occurred again next morning. So, I requested again on the way out, but nothing was done when I came back in the evening. What a nightmare. Worst hotel I've ever experienced.

I travel extensively throughout the world for business and have stayed at the Savoy, the Plaza, and the Royal York among many other world class hotels. This is by far my most favorite hotel in the world. The staff are antasic, the food is amazing, and there is so much to do in Banff it is unbeleivable. I dont know what other people were talking about when they say it needs to be renovated or that its pricy. From my travels the rate is in line with similar class hotels and they do a great job of renovating there rooms. As it is such a large hotel it probably does take time to get to every room, but I have always loved any room I have been in. It is such a great and historical hotel. Movie Stars, Royalty, Prime Ministers, Presidents....the list of who have stayed here is extensive. I can only say great things about this hotel and can't wait to go back....and soon!

This hotel is very expensive but everyone should stay there at least once just to experience it. It is a beautiful old hotel in a glorious location. I really enjoyed my 3 day stay and wish I could afford to stay longer. Room was very quiet and comfortable and the staff was eager to please. If you do stay there, just be prepared to be nickled and dimed to death. Parking is 22/night for self-park and you even have to pay to use a computer in the business center. I thought this was a bit excessive considering how much the rooms cost.

First, we truly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs. The employees at the hotel were very helpful and pleasant. Our room was not ready when we arrived, but we were a bit early and they gave us choices. They even offered a place to change for brunch while we waited for our room to be ready. We expected our room to be old and small, but we were pleasantly surprised to be put into a large room with a very nice view. (This was one of the choices) The bathroom was nice, but was in need of repair due to many years of use. The hotel was old, but that was what we had come to see. The lobby and sitting rooms and even the exterior were beautiful. The indoor pool was never full, the hot tub was full once. Yes, it was expensive, but we thought it was worth it, at least for a once in a lifetime stay.

It was so luxurious and wonderful, it is like staying at a castle and the restaurants are magnificent. It is not for the budget-conscious travel, but for those who love luxury

A castle in the mountains, as if you were transported back in time! We actually got a deluxe room on the 10th floor. The elevator goes to the 9th floor and you have to climb a spiral staircase to the attic rooms. They were awesome. Not large, but very cozy with a true old time feel to them. Two windows in which to view the mountains and the top of the castle. The service was exceptional...don't miss out on the buffet breakfast. It's a bit pricey but so fulfilling that you don't have to eat again until dinner. The hotel is only a 5 minute drive to the delightful city of Banff, which offers many less expensive dining experiences. We enjoyed the sleigh ride, however, the one at the Fairmont at Lake Louise was cleaner and easier to access if you stayed at the hotel. We also stayed at the Fairmont at Lake Louise for three nights and it was also an awesome experience. Breathtaking views, a bit better than the castles', and easier access to activities and skiing. The outside ice rink and ice castle are fantastic. Skate rentals were the most inexpensive activity, only 9.00 for two hours. Parking is expensive at both and it will cost you just to enter the National Park which contains both hotels. 89.00 for a 5 night stay. Skiing at Lake Louise was definitely more luxureous and costly. Overall a breathtaking experience.
