I found this place to be a good compromise on price, location, and quality. It's a little older, and the room showed signs of having been fixed-up and patched here and there, but it's clean and bright. Furnishings and so on seemed reasonably modern. At night, the property is very well-lit, adding to its security. The staff were pleasant and professional. I had previously stayed at a less-expensive Travelodge around the corner, and much preferred this place. It cost an additional a day, but was well worth it... the Travelodge was rather dingy and dark, and the room and fittings appeared much older and less well maintained. The location is surprisingly convenient, if one doesn't mind dealing with the Lion's Gate bridge to get downtown. I made the trip several times, and so long as one avoids rush hour, it's not that bad (Vancouverites perform traffic merges quite graciously). Some reviewers of hotels in this area have complained about the traffic and driving here, but I found it to be consistent with city-driving elsewhere. You probably would not want to stay here if you were reliant on public transit. Aside from a few basic restaurants such as Denny's, there isn't much in the immediate area. Unless you plan to watch TV or sit around the pool, you probably want to sleep here and spend your days elsewhere. They serve a continental breakfast, but I skipped that, so can't comment. If you're willing to pay a bit more than "budget" prices, and go for a "lower cost nicer place", you might find this to be a good choice.

Conviently located near Capilano suspension bridge, however, there isn't that much available within 5 km. One night stay was fine. Hotel is old but acceptable. Continental breakfast is basic. Service is somewhat questionable. I got the impression that they didn't try too hard as the room was prepaid.
