At 167 per night, I expected more than I received. The staff did not take our reservations correctly, and we spent forty minutes trying to check in. The room was small, the beds were hard, and the blankets were shabby. The toilet was right up against the vanity. I requested another room, and received one, but the toilet was badly situated in it, as well. The drain in the tub remained clogged for the duration of my stay. They charged 16 per day to use the Internet, and the charge in the business center was 4 for fifteen minutes. Virtually every hotel along a highway will provide free Internet, and I certainly expect it in a four star establishment. The television remote did not operate properly, and I was charged 1.50 to make a local call. The Beaver Club was nice, but the shrimp in our cocktails was undercooked. When we sent them back, we were told that was how they prepare them, and that we could order something else. We did! The concierge was helpful and courteous, as was most of the staff. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Skip the pricey breakfast in the hotel and head down to the restaurants located in L2.You will need to change elevators at the RC level. I'll try another hotel next time.

I didn't like it all. The room was freezing because of the air conditioner and the thermostat in the room was basically decorative. I would have been warmer if I slept on the steps in front of the cathedral. Not only was the room too cold but the air conditioner or something like that was making a lot of noise. So even though the bed was decent it was too uncomfortable (cold and noisy) to sleep. I happened to see someone's room in the Holiday Inn when I was in Montreal and it was a lot nicer than the one had.I definitely would not stay there again.

We arrived late on Amtrack from USA( border immigration takes two extra hours) and hotel staff were super helpful their suggestions were on the mark. Our requested high floor room away from elevators was ready, over sized with a stunning view of the cathedral rooflines and waterfront. Montreal eating is very good, Vieux Montreal is fun and interesting and the hotel is in the midst of many places of interest and quality neighborhood resturaunts. Walk straight out of the lower floor hotel elevator into the underground city, which is a marvel of ambience and shopping opportunities. Montreal IGA supermarket has varieties of prepared portions of food that beats Zabars! Walk for hours at night on safe and clean streets. Take a boat ride on the St Lawrence, experience the force of the current and see Habitat in person! A perfect place for a getaway with multiple cultural influences and languages where everyone was more than willing to speak English with us and patiently help us with our French!

The rooms were very small, the bathroom had no ventilation. The commode was smack against the vanity. The tub was stained. The only chair was the one to the desk so you were forced to sit on the bed. Staff was friendly and helpful but they could have taken some of the lobby space and added it to the rooms.Would not stay here again.

The service needs work; the employees are great, BUT there is not enough employees to support the number of guests. Checkout is the worst. You wait forever in line at the desk. Then they tell you to go grab lunch (preferably at their restaurant) since the wait for your car is over an hour; and they don?t allow you to get your car yourself?isn?t convenience the point of valeting! Fine...lunch?but what about our luggage, we have to check it...and of course, line at the bellhop?ughhh?at this point, I was ready to hitchhike home. Nice location, but NOT worth the aggravation.
