This is not the best hotel in town, but it is perfect for a safe, easy, affordable stay. Literally saved 50% by booking on online travel website (not a paid endorsement, but an encouragement to buy your ticket online before you arrive) - walked in, gave our name and were headed to the room in a couple of minutes. Our room had a great view and was well tended to. The bathroom was fine except the sink drained very very slowly (but I didn't complain, it wasn't that big of an issue to us). Hotel San Francisco is within two blocks of beautiful Alameda Park in one direction and lots of small food places in the other direction. I wouldn't recommend walking around outside at night alone - no personal problems, but it looked kinda 'seedy'... if you know what I mean. There is a lot of construction going on this area (rebuilding a large facility across the street) but the room was very quiet at night. The buffet dinner and breakfast were fine, and affordable (90 pesos and 50 pesos respectively). The staff were friendly and accommodating. Although nothing came up that needed a specific request, the encounters I had with the front desk, the bellman and the wait staff in the restaurant were extremely inviting, friendly and helpful. The hotel has its own taxi, which was very nice to get to the airport (which is 13 miles away... the cab rate for two of us was about 200 pesos). Not having to chase down a taxi on the street was a very nice added benefit. I personally wouldn't choose this place to stay for a long, relaxing, vacation trip... but for a couple of days between legs of a longer journey - it was a life saver.

Very friendly and helpful staff that made excellent suggestions for excursions, landmarks, where to go at night, eat, etc. Clean, but nothing fancy. A little noisy from nearby construction. Excellent location near several cultural landmarks. Hotel food pretty good. Exciting atmosphere. Truly authentic Mexican hotel and ambiance.. Just wish TV worked better.

My vacations was excellent. I enjoy everything in the hotel and outside.

If your on a budget, its ok. The construction across the street will wake you up early. Basically the way I saw it, this hotel is good to just spend the night, since it doesn't have amenities. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the staff was professional. I would stay there again, but like I said, don't expect much and its cheap and clean.

Absolutley the worst Hotel I have ever been in. Maybe it would be best to use it as an Animal Hospital or a Morgue. I am not sure why this place is listed anywhere as a recommendation.
