This Hotel has a great location - but this is a very over-priced hotel - too many hotels in Puerto Vallarta that are far better and far less expensive . This Hotel used to be reasonable in price which made it s good buy for its location - now it is over-priced - this is a two-star Hotel.

The BEST thing about this hotel is also the WORST thing. The location is right on the beach and it is great to watch all the activity from your balcony. You can watch the water taxies come and go and all the vendors selling their wares, there are always people on the pier fishing. HOWEVER, at night it is also busy and noisy. There are wonderful restaurants within walking distance (we only took a cab one night for dinner); there is a great coffee place right across the street and lovely flower shops and three spas with great deals on manicures, pedicures and massages. I gave good ratings on the hotel and this is the third time we stayed here. It was the first time that we did all inclusive and as others have written, the only meal that we would eat at the buffet is breakfast. It was nice to be able to get a beer or mixed drink during the day. But unfortunately due to the noise at night, we will not stay here again. One night there was a jazz concert on the beach that lasted past midnight, then two consecutive nights there were kids out there screaming and hollering at 2:00 and 3:00 AM. If you can handle the noise, and like being in the middle of all the activity, you will enjoy this hotel; do yourself a favor and upgrade to the junior suite.

The front desk management had a careless attitude and it got worst from there. The rooms are overwhelmed by the odor of mold, the beds were rock hard, air conditioning could not compete with the 30c weather. We upgraded our room to an ocean view which was incredibly beautiful but inturn had to deal with the beach noise until after 3am. We booked all inclusive but had to go and eat elsewhere because the food was some of the worst I have ever eaten. After 3 days into our 7 day vacation we forfitted our booking and moved to a new hotel.

I knew some where in Mexico would not be top of the line. But for all the reviews. This place was a one star only.No room service. No safe in room.Left the door open after cleaning.Charged more once we arrived. If it was cheap cheap would have been ok.If you are going to that area stay some where else.

Service is excellent from all staffs. Upgrade to junior suite facing the beach is a very useful suggestion from one of the traveler's post. Bed is good but then I prefer hard bed. Bathroom is clean and big, lighting and tiles need a bit of updating. The bedspread needs to be washed. There are bugs in them.

San Marino is a nice, clean, basic hotel on the beach in the Zona Romantica area. The staff are plesant and many of the best restaurants and shoppping are within a blocks of the hotel. We didn't go all inclusive because there are just too many good restaurants in the area. This is a very popular area with tourists and locals, so don't go for peace and quiet. Other than a stiff mattress, not much to complain about."
