Not exactly a "Resort"
Bahia lacked the many qualities you would expect in a Resort. The location however is ideal with just a short walk to the ocean and many resta...

I planned a trip to this hotel because it looked nice, clean and like a resort on the web page. It is not a stretch for us to pay 200-300 a night for rooms, that are high quality---this was awful...a nightmare..disgusting and a waste of my money. My family and i were expecting to stay in a resort...this was not a resort...it was disgusting. The pictures on the web page are false advertising. The pool is cramped and dirty. There is nobody available at the pool to get soft drinks or food..not that I would have ordered any. The bedrooms are dingy. The whole experience was one of the worst. I wish we had switched hotels but time did not allow. If you want a nice vacation at a nice hotel tTHIS IS NOT WHERE YOU SHOULD VACATION. The seal pool has 2 sickly seals. My daughter was horrified when she saw the blind, sickly seals and wanted us to call the humane society. We are currently in the process of doing just that. It is inhumane to have those seals in such shallow dirty water. I would recommend you stay somehwere else....this is not worth your money, time, energy or vacation time ---BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!

It started with a 90-minute wait for my reserved room (guaranteed to be ready at my 4:00 arrival time). The old room had a brick wall, a broken shower and no ventilation in the bedroom. Even a simple request for more towels required 3 phone calls and another hour of waiting.

Our room was old and shabby, with dust and hair on the floor, someone's shoes left behind under the bed. The horrible part of our stay was when we woke up at 5:30am and our 2 year old son had left the room and gone wandering in the parking lot. Hotel security luckily found him and had him as we frantically were searching for him. The room (#129) didn't have the security latch on it that every hotel I have stayed in for as long as I can remember has had. He was able to pull the door knob and leave. The wall mounted airconditioner/heater was so loud, it would have been impossible to hear him go.Needless, to say, we checked out that morning and stayed at the Hyatt Mission Bay, which was wonderful. But even if you don't have small children, shouldn't you be able to lock your hotel from the inside securely?

Disappointed is an understatement. The rooms were dingy. They claimed the beds were queen but were really full. Fitting to people was a tight squeeze. The shower heads were so low it was hard to fit under them and I am small so I can?t imagine how a tall person would fit. We had a bayfront room but you could not enjoy it because the grass leading to the bay was covered with bird crap so you had to walk all the way around to get to the beach anyway. After the first night they had to move our room because of the bugs from the sliding doors. There is a picture of the hotel in the 1950?s in the gift shop and it looks like it did then. I would never go back or recommend this to anyone. I have stayed in Sherton and Holiday Inns nicer than this for a lot less.

We stayed at the Bahia to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. The check in was easy, we were given a room that had a full kitchen and living area. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. It even had a view of the marina and a outside patio. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were going to a concert down town, we were given directions by the front desk and found our way with no problem. Arriving back late from the show we felt very safe and secure parking the car and going back to the room. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Very good price, very good place.

We spent 200-300+ per night and I expected at least a decent room. What we got was an old kitchenette unit with painted cinderblock walls and a dingy bedroom. Being bayfront seemed like a good idea, but ours faced the public beach side and we never felt quite safe opening up the doors to see the view(which wasn't that great anyway being covered up by foliage). I'm not sure what the other rooms look like on the private beach side (maybe more like the beautiful photos they post for the Bahia?), but at least the beach on that side is nice for kids. The pool is nice, but still not worth spending 200 plus. We generally stay at Embassy Suites and Doubletrees for much less than what we paid at Bahia and get rooms twice as nice. I totally regret not moving to another hotel after seeing what the room looked like!
