Unlike some of the previous reviews, we found the outside and room new looking, neat and clean. The lobby people were fine. Out of Special K, and no fruit. Generally a good experience. Convenient to resturants and shopping. Exceeded my expectations.

My husband is ill and we (or I) spend many nights in Bakersfield for medical treatments and hospital stays. We live 50 miles away in the mountains. Motel is clean and most of the staff is helpful and polite. Housekeeping staff does at times speak rudely of guests in .... in front of guests. Many guests in California speak and understand the language so training in this area is needed. Request for extra pillow honoured quickly. Breakfast basic not fancy, but it is in tune with a continental breakfast!

The rooms are ok for the price, but they need better pillow or more pillows in the rooms. The pillows are flat and make sure each room has a remote for the TV. Also your front desk help could use some public friendly training.

We had two rooms. One room had a broken fire alarm, no fridge as stated or microwave. We had no coffee. No iron in room. The tub has dirty and would not hold water for a bath. The second day the towels were not changed. We went to the pool. It was dirty, and the jacuzzi was not working. The front desk help was a rude lady. We were set up to stay for two days. The second day our key would not let us in our room. Will never stay at this hotel again and may never stay at a Hoiday Inn again.
