The hotel was okay. When you walk in the lobby, you think you are in a much nicer hotel then the actual rooms reflect. The breakfast buffet in the hotel resturant was very expensive and not worth the price they charge. Our room was okay but it was in dire need of remodeling. Having the subway station connected to the hotel was very convienent, but there are literally no resturants to go to the evening in the area unless you take the subway to a different part of Washington.

Anyone considering staying at this hotel should first be informed that L'Enfant is NOT a luxury hotel. The rooms are comparable to any budget motel and be prepared to pay excessive fees to use the one computer that is available 24 hours a day. My room dhad a view of the federal building next door, not any monuments or city views as described on the website. The rooms are well below any "luxury" standard. The carpets are in bad shape, the furniture needs to be updated andor replaced and the bathrooms are similar to those of a Motel 6. Furthermore, the drinks at the bar are horribly overpriced. I did not try any food, so I can't comment on the quality of the menu items. There are a few pros to staying at the hotel. It's only 10 minutes from National Airport by the green or yellow lines. The National Mall and all it's wonderful sights is a very easy walk. It's worth noting that this hotel is on the south side of the National Mall, where there is nothing but business offices. Most restaurants and other points of interest are on the north side of the Mall. This is a great place to stay if you want a budget hotel experience and can get a great rate. I paid */night, which seemed twice as much as it was worth.

the only good thing about this place is it's close to the museums and there is a metro station under it...the rest is not even worth a penny. They need to clean the hotel from top to bottom and teach their staff the basic customer service skills. I will never use travelocity again...trusted their rating and it turned out to be very false and a big lie

This hotel is an easy walk to the Smithsonian, Archives, Monuments and Memorials. The Metro is directly beneath the Hotel Lobby and very easy to access. Promenade Mall with a McDonald's was also very handy...plan wisely though, the McD's and most of the stores on the Promenade are closed on Saturday and Sunday. The Hotel seemed to be understaffed at times. The Lobby was often full of people who were attending meetings, but were not necessarily staying in that Hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds were VERY comfortable. The Hotel Cafe was good food but not worth the inflated prices. I recommend eating in the Promenade below or just ordering a pizza for delivery. The gift shop was handy for snack food and other stuff, but again, the prices were too much! I suggest taking the Metro to the Crystal City station and buying your junk food at the TARGET there! Also...souvenirs are much cheaper when bought from street vendors, not from the Hotel stores. The Hotel staff was very helpful when they weren't tied up helping other folks. They gladly stowed our luggage on checkout day until we were ready to leave for the airport. Overall, it was a great experience. You can't beat being that close to everything!

I stayed four nights while attending a conference at the Washington Convention Center. My room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. You only have to go one level down from the lobby to the Metro stop (right under the hotel), which serves 4 different routes, so the location was very convenient. I had one dinner in the restaurant, which was incredibly good, if a liittle pricey. I'll come back here any time I come to D.C.

I travel extensively. I do not complain. I have stayed at some very undesirable hotels around the world. But, I would not expecrt a hotel in the United States and in Washington DC to be this bad. I was familiar with this hotel's history, but I did not expect a hotel of this status to be in such a state of disrepair, poor maintenance and neglect. The value is not worth the stay...unless you can condone toilets and tubs that do not function, non-sound proofed rooms, less than minimal service, and uncleanliness for too much money.
