The first day I arrived, the lady at the front desk must have been having a bad day because she was short with me for no reason, but the rest of the stay the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I left my 'privacy please' sign on my door the first night so I didn't receive room service the next day, but when I noticed that the next day, I called and requested that they come clean my room, and a manager even came by to see that the maid had come. The bed was very comfortable (I love down comforters!) and the room was nice! I would definitely like to try out another Kimpton hotel. It was overall a great experience and I loved the complimentary starbucks in the morning :) The only negatives I have about the place were the drinks and snacks in the minibar were extremely pricey, but I would imagine it would be like that anywhere, and the hotel restaurant closed at 10pm which I think is a bit early.

A solid 3-star hotel in a great neighborhood. Staff were very friendly upon check-in and throughout our stay. Room was on the small side, but plenty of room for two, and had a great view from the 10th floor. The only downside to the room was the bed...matress was too firm and blankets had questionable stains. The neighborhood, Dupont Circle, is full of small bistros and restaurants, coffee shops, book shops, etc. Take the time to walk around Dupont Circle and enjoy the atmosphere. Embassy row is also a short walk away. The White House, National Mall, and Georgetown are all a 10-15 minute walk away.

We were extremely pleased with everything at the Madera. Only a short walk away from the DuPont Circle Metro, had easy access to everything you need. The room was large and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very nice, but a little short on the menu (just wish they had more of a choice). We will stay here again if ever we go back to DC.

Overall, the hotel was great. Location, staff and amenities were much appreciated. Size of bathroom was a little small and cramped. Otherwise a great stay.

This hotel has it all - location, great rooms, a fantastic restaurant and great staff. A short walk to Dupont Circle Metro makes it convenient to get around DC. Dozens of restaurants of all kinds within easy walking distance. Firefly, restaurant on site, is exceptional - great atmosphere, creative menu, delicious food, excellent service and a terrific wine list. Large and nicely appointed rooms with the most comfortable beds and pillows ever! Great leopard print robes, too! I was a tad concerned about it being ""pet friendly"", but, no worries - no pet hair, very clean!
