When booking this hotel we were told that we were going to be able to upgrade because we were honeymooners. When we arrived we were denied. They told us to come back a few days later and we still were denied. When we walked into our room, it was extremely dirty. There was hair on the floors, bottle caps laying around, and the vents had black on the ceilings. A few days later we could not find our bowls. Come to find out, they were still in the dishwasher from previous occupants. We requested our room to be cleaned again, but it still looked the same. The beds are as hard as rocks and lumpy. In the bathrooms we were scared to walk around barefoot so we wore sandels. The pools are extremely crowded, especially with children. So definately not the place for someone on their honeymoon. Little activity going on at the hotel, but they do have wonderful expensive drinks. My suggestion is to hit the happy hour. Overall was not impressed with the hotel, staff did not want to go out of their way to accommodate your needs. I would not reccomend staying here if you are on your honeymoon.

The resort was beautiful - we booked a non view room one bedroom standard and when we checked in we received an 8th floor non view with an incredible view of the ocean and Molokii island. The restaurant and lobby was beautiful. The property is beautiful, the staff is pleasant and friendly. The room was very nice. The beach on the property is beautiful, it isn't very expansive but the sand is great and clean, the kids loved the snokeling (two teenage boys) We have no complaints, if we ever get the opportunity to go again there is no doubt we would stay at Resort Quest Kannapali Shores. We received a 100 credit for the restaurant , buy 1 get 1 free for a luau and a discount book with coupons for food, attractions and gift shops. It was GREAT!

Although our trip was a sidebar to another trip on Oahu, I fell in love with Maui and will plan to return and stay at ResortQuest Kaanapali Shores again. The value for the money was good and the full kitchen really helps when you want to watch your budget as the restaurants on the islands are expensive. We ate breakfast and lunch in our studio most of the time and ate dinners out. I recommend this to folks with families on a travel budget.

Stayed there for 4 nights, room was not clear, reception was always long wait and they are not helpful for changing rooms. I requested to change room when I find roaches there, they could not change until the next day, so I have a early check out. Only stay there for 3 nights instant.

The place was OK but rather sterile. No tiki bar, restaurant closed early. There was a river that flowed right next to the hotel. When it rained the river turned brown and caused the beach water to turn brown. They advised not swimming in the ocean under those conditions. When it rained, the drainage on the walkway was bad and water came in the room under the door. The staff was accomodating and courteous, but there was not much that they could do about these two situations. The workout facility was very good. The restaurant menu was a bit pricey and somewhat ordinary.

At first glance, the Kaanapali Shores hotels is beautiful...the grounds are exceptional and well groomed. The front desk staff was professional but not overly friendly and warm. We were honeymooning and had reserved a studio room....to the best of my knowledge, all studio rooms face another hotel with very LIMITED ocean view. You cannot leave the lanai door open at night....we tried every night....only to be awakened between 6:45 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. to construction crews working beneath us and to garbage collection vehicles. I know, you are thinking why in the world would we leave the door open....I'd like to say it was because I wanted to wake up to an ocean view (although in fairness we could hear the ocean in the background if we listened closely) but in all honesty it was because our air conditioning unit was malfunctioning and after reporting it several times and getting no response, we decided to just make the best of it. The rooms are older and they are adequate...nothing fancy or upgraded in any way....We did enjoy the pools....while not fancy, they had an awesome happy hour and the pools were clean and rarely crowded. The beach access was just a few steps so it made for very easy "romantic" sunrises and sunsets. The restaurant was great....food is reasonably priced. All in all, I would rate this hotel fair, but I wouldn't stay there again......Maui is gorgeous....go and check out Kapalua Bay.....
