The Royal Lahaina Resort is a 27-acre tropical haven situated on Kaanapali Beach and approximately 32 miles from Kahului Airport. Local attractions include Lahaina Town, approximately three miles away, and the Maui Ocean Center, located 18 miles from the resort.The Royal Lahaina Resort's gardens and lawns offer ample opportunity to unwind. The Royal Lahaina Luau is a beachside celebration featuring a Polynesian buffet. The onsite beach activities center offers cabana rentals, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, rafts, and beach chairs for rent on the resort's sandy oceanfront. Three swimming pools, a whirlpool, and free scuba diving lessons are also available. Guests may enjoy preferred rates at the adjacent golf courses. Louchia's Salon pampers guests with indoor and beachside massages, as well as beauty treatments. Additional amenities include an activity desk, local area/resort shuttle (fee), jogging path, laundry facilities, lei-making instruction, Internet cafe, parking (fee), and dry cleaning services. Dining options include Pacific Rim cuisine at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant, Basil Tomatoes Italian Grille, ice cream at the Royal Scoop, the Royal Ocean Terrace Lounge, Don the Beachcomber, and the Barefoot Bar.Guestrooms in the Lahaina Kai Tower were remodeled in 2007 and offer teak furnishings, natural materials, and state of the art technology such as HD flat-screen TVs, Internet access, and Ipod ports. In addition, standard features include air-conditioning, lanais, refrigerators, irons and ironing boards, movies on-demand, safes (fee), radios, coffeemakers, and hairdryers.Cottage rooms and cottage suites offer a moderate level of accommodation with casual wicker furnishings and daily maid service. Cottage suites include a kitchenette. Romance special includes Daily Buffet Breakfast for 2, one Luau dinner for 2, one Sunset Dinner Sail for 2, Champagne upon arrival.

We stayed there with family and friends for our sons wedding at the Plantation house. We couldn't have been happier with the room,service and food. When we read some reviews before we arrived we were somewhat concerned. This resort is a great value. The rooms were great (they upgraded us to a partial ocean view) and the service was even better. Many of the more expensive hotels have pools that are far nicer. If you like pools that are more than basic pools and find that paying more a night for it the stay at one of the other hotels in Kaanapali.

We stayed in this hotel on our anniversary 9 years ago. They have remodeled the rooms in the tower since then and they are really nice. The bed is wonderfully comfortable! The hotel is right on a great beach with gentle waves and clear blue water. We snorkeled around Black Rock and saw more turtles than we did on a paid snorkel trip to "Turtle Town." We ate breakfast in the dining room on Sunday morning. My husband had the buffet and I ordered off the menu. The service was great and the chef accomodated my special requests and even went above and beyond. We had lunch another day which was very good. We only had two complaints. We stayed on the 5th floor with a partial oceanview and every morning at 5:30 a.m. we were awakened by the sound of a rolling metal kitchen rack, and later in the morning by the sound of the rolling trash bin the gardener used. The light above the sink in the vanity area was awful! I had a really hard time putting on my makeup. If they would just put in soft white bulbs, it would probably solve the problem. Other than the two minor problems, we loved the hotel and will stay there again.

The resort is located on the most beautiful stretch of Kanaapali beach, very quiet and close to Black Rock which is a nice snorkeling site. Most of the activities are around Whalers Village which is 15 minutes away if walking or 5 minutes away with a free shuttle bus which operates inside the Kanaapali resort. Make sure you understand where you are sleeping because they have regular hotel rooms and cottages. I tought my package included an hotel room instead I got a cottage which was nice anyway. Don't expect excellent services or beautiful pools. Overall I tought that this resort was an excellent value for the money and I would recommend it to those who are looking to relax and stay away from the crowd. Perfect for families or for vacations longer than 1 week.

MIy husband and I loved this resort. We were upgraded to oceanfront from terrace view for a small amt. of . It was so worth it- we slept with our door open and heard the ocean every night! It is a quiet beach- away from the bustle of the other resorts. The Royal Lahaina Terrace restaurant was good but a little pricey. They do not have any programs for children- we came without our kids so it was no big deal for us. I would highly recommend this charming resort to friends and famikly.

Stayed in the cottages for 7 days. Very clean,quiet, and convenient to a great beach. Don't believe the negative reviews about the cottages. Everything in Maui is expensive, except the cottages at the Royal Lahaina. Although old and dated, fresh paint and new carpet make them very comfortable. Recommend staying at the cottages before they're demolished for yet more condo's. The cottages are well furnished, clean and give a very cozy feel for a Family vacation. The cottages are far from the nightly Luau. I opted for the valet parking for an additional 5 over self parking. The information you can get from the valet's makes up for the additional fee, not to mention not having to worry about parking during the luaus. We asked the staff about everything from Golf, snorkeling, restaurants and directions. When asked, the staff will help you with anything and everything. Great trip.

This was our first trip to Maui and our travel agent had booked our resorts for this trip b/c we were island hopping. We were delighted by the Royal Lahaina. It was clean and pretty. We even got an upgrade free on our room upon arrival. We LOVED our bed. It was the most comfortable bed we had ever slept in. The resort is on the beach and it is nice to take walks on. There is a luau in the resort that we went to but were not impressed b/c we had been to a better one on Oahu. All and all we loved the resort and would stay there again.
