The Tremont is an awesome location - close to Michigan Ave and all sorts of shopping and dining. It is also within blocks of the El. The hotel is just a place to sleep - the rooms are small, the bathrooms are small and dated too. Their is no breakfast, coffee, internet, cable tv, etc.

My husband and I have stayed a half a dozen times in Chicago for a night away and this by far was the worst hotel we have stayed in. We checked into a hotel with a great location and the Ditka restaurant attached to it was fabulous but it went downhill from there. Our room did not have a remote control but we soon found out that the cable was out as well. They did offer one free movie. We did order the free movie but found in the first 5 minutes the movie was not what we wanted to watch so we called down to the night staff and he was rude and accused us of already asking to switch movies (which we had not - we just got in from dinner) and basically hung up on us. The room smelled, our bathroom lights only worked at the mirror so we had to take a shower in teh dark as well. It had a great location but that is all we liked. Compared to other hotels we have stayed in for the same price, this was not a good experience. You can get a much better room and hotel for the same price along the Mag. Mile so keep on looking!

Great location. Hotel in need of repair. AC system did not work for part of stay. elevator broken for part of stay. TV did not work for all of stay. (not that we would watch it much but it would have been nice to be sable to see the weather.)

Great location, walking distance from shopping and lots of restaurants & bars. No in room coffee, ran out of coffee in the lobby twice during our stay. No room service. No bar in the hotel. Elevator really slow and broke down once for a couple of hours. Older hotel with average amenities, small bathroom. Ditka's restaurant right next door great to have so close.

We needed a hotel near Michigan avenue that was nice but reasonable. This hotel was just the ticket. An older classic hotel, pleasant enough for a quick stay. If you like a firm bed this is also the place to be. I would have preferred a softer bed.

We stayed here in the winter, and the rooms were pretty cool. It seems as though it only has single paned windows. I loved the location, but was disappointed that the room didn't even have a coffee maker. It's nice to make a cup of tea when it is cold out.We both like old hotels, but like them with modern amenities. The whole place just needs a bit of sprucing up-the bathroom is very old and needs to have everything updated. I think this would be a good place to stay when it is a little warmer-perhaps the spring or the fall.
this hotel is near walking distance to all that you want to see in chicago. The rooms were of quality size, and the bathrooms were clean, whic...
