I can't believe how outdated the rooms are here. I literally don't think there is anything about the rooms that makes it better than a standard economy...

I was very pleased with the Westin on Michigan Ave. The hotel was in great shape and the rooms were rather upscale for the price we paid. Good size and very clean. I knew it was a good sign when the LA Dodgers were also staying in our hotel!!! Great location right across the street from the Hancock Building. Tons of shopping in the surrounding blocks and only about five blocks (about 10 min walk) from the El Train Station. Seemed like a very professional or family oriented clientel, however it was great for a guys baseball getaway as well. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We've stayed in many properties in downtown Chicago & this was by far the best! From check-in to check-out, the staff provided superior service! We were upgraded to a larger room with a view of the lake...just because. We were given a free in room movie simple because we had kids with us. :-) The room was large (for Chicago), clean, and well appointed. The restaurant is spendy (it's Chicago afterall), but great food, huge portions & out of this world desserts!

Great location right next to water tower place and the handcock building. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Watch out for city taxes on the room, they totaled close to 40 dollars on our stay. All thing considered an excellent value.

Our recent stay at the Westin Hotel on Michigan Avenue was somewhat disappointing. For a pricey */night, there weren't any amenities. Bottled water in the room was 5/each beyond the usual costly in-room bar items. The tub was plugged up when we tried to take our initial shower, although it was fixed promptly upon a service call. There is only one restaurant in the hotel with a limited menu; there is no local sports channel in the rooms, so we were unable to watch a White Sox ballgame unless we stayed in the bar, also pricey (no nuts/chips offered). There is no complimentary shuttle service from Ohare Airport to/from the hotel (cost is */person via shuttle or * for a cab ride). On a positive note, the concierges were very helpful and courteous. Overall, I would rank this Westin as mediocre at best. Nothing offered by the Westin made it "special".
This is a beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms and wonderful lake views (facing north). Great service and the heavenly beds are amazing! Wil...
