Hotel Monteleone: Visit the Carousel Bar!

This hotel's lobby is absolutely beautiful. If you stay here, be sure to visit the Carousel Bar for a cocktail. Sit at the bar as it slowly rotates, and enjoy the musical entertainment.

We've stayed here three times, right now we're here for the 2012 Jazzfest. The Monteleone is nicely appointed, rooms are small so we splurged for a small...

Maybe it's because we look young, even though we're not. Maybe it's because we were traveling with our service dogs. But my fiance and I were treated quite...

The location of this property is fantastic - you are very near many of the landmarks, but not so close that you have to deal with the undesirables. The staff is very attentive and check in was a breeze even though several groups showed up at the same time. The hotel decor was great - definitely not a generic feel - you definitely knew you were in New Orleans.

Very convenient, but not right on the bustle of Bourbon Street. Staff was very friendly, helpful. Pool area is small but enjoyable. I'll check here first next time we're headed to NOrleans.

A nice historic hotel conveniently located in the French Market and within walking distance of many attractions. The staff was extra helpful and the bed was comfy. The room was always very clean though ours was VERY small (chest drawers opened up into the foot of the bed.) We were told that our room size was the exception and that other rooms are larger. Still, it was a good value for the money. We would stay at this hotel again except next time we will request a little larger room.

The Monteleone was wonderful in every respect except one. The room was nice, clean, and had everything I needed for the weekend. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The location was central to all activities in dowtown New Orleans. The exercise room's view was spectacular. It overlooks the curve in the Miss. River in front of the St. Louis Cathedral. The one problem was the room location. My room (10th floor) was at the far end of the hotel closest to Canal Street and I heard a lot of noise at night; sirens, people singing, street noise, and yelling. The noise was sporatic, but noticeable. Make sure your room is away from this location.

My friend and I just returned from New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival. The hotel was in close proximity to everything. If you aren't able to walk, a short cab ride should get you there. The room was a bit small, but very comfortable and nicely decorated. We will definately make Monteleone our spot next

We LOVED this Hotel! The Carousel Bar is a great place to meet other people, and drinks are reasonably priced. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel, EVER....the pillows, the mattress...the King size bed was great. The staff is super attentive, and couldn't be any nicer. The location of the Hotel Monteleone is excellent, being that it's right around the corner from LOUD Bourbon Street, but also around the corner from the QUIETER and quainter places. Everything is within walking distance, including the streetcar, downtown, French Quarter and tons of places to drink and eat and shop. You do NOT need a car if you stay at this Hotel. The pool was great and while we didn't get to try the restaurant, the menu seemed quite nice (but a bit pricey). We will ALWAYS stay at this Hotel when returning, and when we were there, most everyone we met at the bar were returning guests (on a regular basis!).
