Decent hotel

I've stayed here on several work trips in 2006-2007, but it's not my preferred NOLA hotel (W Poydras for style/comfort/gym and Homewood for free breakfast/dinner and spacious rooms). Generally very nice Sheraton property within walking distance of Bourbon Street, the French Quarter, the Warehouse district, and downtown. Starbucks onsite is a nice feature. The open bar area is a great place to people watch and relax. The beds are very comfortable and the slightly modern decor is pleasing. What I don't like: The bedroom doors are thin, so you can hear all the noise in the hallways. The fitness center costs extra money unless you are a Starwood Member (don't remember which level). Getting my car in the morning took 30-45 minutes AFTER I had called 30 minutes in advance one very busy week! Executive level ammenities are weak. Staff turn-over seemed high while NOLA is "rebuilding", so quality of service varied.

This hotel was located at an excellent location. One block from Harrah's and 2 blocks from the Aquarium. The trolley runs right in front of the hotel and is a short trip to the french market. Within walking distance to great shopping and great restaurants. My kids, husband and I didn't want to leave. We absolutely fell in love with the city and the hotel. This is a great hotel at a great value! We plan on going back and staying at this hotel!

Lovely hotel in a great location on the edge of the French Quarter. Club floor offers complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon hors d'oeuvres with spectacular view of the river. Friendly front desk staff. Well-stocked hotel shop.

This is a nice hotel, in an excellent location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. However, you can forget about making any special requests to the cleaning staff, because most of them don't understand a bit english (seriously). The a day charge for using the gym is excessive, at least they should offer a weekly pass at a reduced rate. I would much rather pay a higher room rate, than have to deal with "add on" charges. Other than that my stay was perfect!

The room was sufficient for a short stay, the cleaning staff were excellent and the rooms clean. I had a problem with the 'key' which was immediately attended to. The air conditioner fan had a bad bearing and squealed when it turned on. The pool is easy to find - down a dark hallway and up a stair, the pool is about the size of a postage stamp - three feet deep on one end and four and a half on the other. I had dinner in the restaurant one evening with my companion. I had 'Kobe' beef burger and she had a crab sandwich, I can not speak to the shrimp but the burger tasted like fish. There is a lot of chipping of paint in the hallways from the cleaning carts that should be taken care of. This is not quite up to the standard of other Sheraton hotels I have stayed in but for a short stay in an extremely expensive city it will do.

Nice view from the room. Good location close to the riverwalk. Will opt for it again.
