On paper, this hotel sounds great: located in Block E, lots of art, huge TV in all the rooms, very cutting edge. Unfortunately when you view it in person, the experience resembles a grave! It is very dark in the main lobby and the reservations desk. Even the bar/lounge had all the windows covered. Staff only speak if spoken to first and even on a busy Fourth of July weekend, the place was silent as a tomb! The room was clean but had a real sterile feel to it. To sum up, if you like a welcoming, exciting, and fun hotel, stay away from the Graves!

I stayed overnight before a business meeting. The room was paid for by the company with which I was meeting. I turned down an additional night in the hotel, because the staff is so incredibly rude!!. After entering from the street, there was no registration desk. I had to find the concierge to find out how to even get into the hotel - up the elevator to the 4th floor (no sign, or friendly instruction). When I mentioned to the front desk that it is unwelcoming to have no sign or help finding the front desk, she looked at me like I was stupid. The room was very nicely furnished, but a little strange. The ventillation system was very noisy. Also, the bathroom has a television, but no bathtub! The final straw was lunch at the end of my meeting. A blizzard had started about two hours before my meeting was over, and our hostess offered to send us with "to go" lunch. When I asked the hotel food services assistant for a "to go" box, she told me "we don't do that." Indeed, the hotel won't provide this service, even before a severe winter storm. If you want to be treated very badly, come to the Graves 601 Hotel. You will not be disappointed. If you want to be welcomed, and treated like a guest, go somewhere else!

Hotel was sooo easy to get to from the airport (light rail drops you off 1 block away). 4th floor Check in is easy and simple using Travelagent.. it's all pre paid. Be sure to notice the moving sculpture behind the front desk of antlers which look like undulating snakes. (it's neat not creepy). The decor of the lobby and lounge is very dark and very cleanly modern with back lighting, and zebra wood paneling. The hotel rooms are bright and inviting in blond wood, and light green accents. Beautiful bed linens and a nifty bathroom with an extra large shower. Loved the Hermes soap! Breakfast was pricy but innovative. Be sure to have the real fresh squeezed orange juice. yum or the oat meal Brule' Room service was typical in price but a large portion and wonderful in terms of innovative cuisine. I would stay there again when ever I was in town.

I have stayed at the graves hotel 4 times and every time they have tried to over charge me! Do not stay there without watching your bill when its check out time. All 4 times they tried charging me when I had all ready paid. Last year they tried charging me for room service which I never recieved. That would have been O.K., but they treated me like a room service thief saying they would have a investigation. When they found out the truth there were no apology. This year they are tring to chagre me 250 dollars for ash in the trash can. I never saw any ash or pictures that they said they had. The managers are putting up such a fight about ash that doesn't exist or was in there when I checked in. Hold your wallet close if you dare stay there.

This coming March will mark our third year getaway to the Graves for a Girl's Getaway Weekend. We could care less about the modern decor or the happening nightclub. We go purely for the bed and the room. The room is completely soundproof so no noise from the nightclub downstairs, the room next door, or the hallway. Complete tranquility. The bed is the most amazing experience and we can't begin to describe it. It's like sleeping on a cloud. The minute we walk into the room, we jump on the beds and enjoy the luxury. It brings a smile to our face. The TV's are amazing. The colors and lighting in the rooms are very calming and serene. All in all, it is the best place to recoup after a day of shopping and exploring the city.

Graves 601 hotel is awsome, close to lots of good restaurants and night clubs in the heart of the warehouse district, and only a block away from the light rail that will take you to the airport and the Mall of America for only 1.50 round trip.
