Built in 1928, the Beekman Tower Hotel is one of Manhattan's true Art Deco masterpieces, and is located in Midtown on the east side. The distinctive tower, a designated landmark, rises prominently in one of the city's most exclusive neighborhoods, steps from the United Nations. The hotel's renowned Top of the Tower restaurant provides spectacular views of the city.Guest rooms include a dataport (computer, fax, modem hook-up), TV Web browser, two-line phones with voicemail, and use of the fitness center.
When we come up to NYC to visit family, we always stay here. The rooms are very large for New York standards. We get a room with a small kitchen & full...

This room has a lot of space! That is one thing that I really liked. I didn't feel stuffy or tight. The room was big; We had a kitchenette and a regular size bathroom. The decor was normal (not outdated as one previous review had said). We asked to upgrade to a KING size bed and that was no problem. The bed was okay-not that comfortable, but it was totally decent. On the map, the hotel location seems to be off to the side, but in reality the walk is not that bad. Lexington (and the subway stop) are just a few blocks and minutes away. This is a good place to stay for the space and the kitchen.

Lovely old hotel--my room had kitchenette (fridge, oven, microwave and dishwasher!).The staff was pleasant and more than helpful all around. Smoke alarm beeped at 5am: I was amazed that someone showed up 5 minutes later to fix it. Pricey compared to what I'm used to, but no more than other hotels in this area (near the U.N.).

I have a friend in New York with an apartment smaller than the room I was. The master bedroom was at least as big as the one in my 2600 sq. ft. house. Living room, dining area and small kitchen all on the 22nd floor over looking the river. I have paid more for less in NYC.

This hotel not at all as represented by their website. My room was dirty and I had a hard time convincing the front desk to move me. Oh, and the WiFi didn't work.

Considering how so many people write about how small NYC hotel rooms are, it was amazing to find an affordable hotel with HUGE suites, with full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a large living/dining room. The decor is a bit dated but the suite was nevertheless very clean. The staff is quite helpful and personable. It's about a mile walk to the theatres, which we didn't mind. If I ever go back to NYC, I would definitely stay here again.
