My family of 4 stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Newton in a "Queen Queen Deluxe" room. The price was exceptionally good for a Manhattan hotel, in fact about half the cost of many alternatives. Our room had two queen beds, a refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV, air con, and a tidy and modern bathroom. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel is just 50 metres from the 95th Street subway station (1, 2 and 3 lines), and it is only two stops to Times Square on the 2 and 3 express trains. Central park is a 5 minute walk away. Although the room has no coffee making facilities, and the hotel does not provide coffee or breakfast, there are many reasonably priced restaurants, take-aways and coffee shops very close by. With a refrigerator in the room we were able to buy milk, juice and breakfast cereal, and we also used the microwave to heat gourmet pasta meals purchased one block away at "Gourmet Garage". There are plenty of drug stores (with beer and grocery items), deli's and supermarkets in the surrounding streets.

Hotel was something of a seedy place awhile ago. But, a good job with turning it around offering up room service and a great staff of helpful and sweet individuals from the bellhop to the maids. You had to wait forever for an elevator but it was still quite nice. Will be staying one more time before the end of this week to see if it was a fluke or if it really was a good deal. I will say that our price was still kind of pricey for a hotel located in an area other than midtown or Times Square. I am a New Yorker so I know the area. Checking out for reviews for my talk show.

We found the staff to be helpful. We had a junior suite which allowed us use of a microwave and refrigerator and a little more space with the sofa and tv in a small sitting room. The bathrooms were up to date and clean. The beds, however, we hard as were the pillows. Also, the air conditioner was noisy but we were only in our room to sleep and shower. It was a larger room and left some money for other spending in the city.

Hotel Newton offers good value in a convenient location. We had a junior suite, which was spacious, included a fridge and microwave in a separate bar area, and a nice bathroom. Only real complaint is the beds - the mattresses were ROCK hard (and I generally like firm beds). The Key West Diner next door offers dine in or room service, and food is well prepared, varied and a good value. Thai restaurant next door to the diner is also good."

Very close to subway, staff is friendly, lots of places to eat within walking distance, small but comfortable room.

Mattresses were hard. Could not get the shower to work. You could take a bath but couldn't find the button, knob, etc. to activate the showerhead."
