my wife and i had a very relaxing 5 days in st thomas i could lay in my bed and look at the spectacular view of the harbor and down town. excellent cooked to order breakfeast in the morning . very nice pool that i had all to myself nightly. 2 min walk to down town where you can catch a taxi but your better off using the local transportation "safari" for just 1.00 excellent food and happy hour at the greenhose. taking a 2 hour tour of the island the one that takes you to mountain top is a must.

I loved this hotel! First, I called late before check in and got a really friendly voice welcoming me and giving me directions to the hotel and I was warmly greated when I arrived. There is a cool covered patio next to the check in desk, where you can sit and chat with other travelers and it is where the free made to order breakfasts are served in the mornings. Staff was very friendly the entire stay, even offering me a muffin and juice after I decided to sleep in past the breakfast time. The room I stayed in was not the flashyest room I have stayed in, but it was clean, nice bed, cable TV, and AC. Most importantly, the location was right in the heart of the city near the shops and historical sites. You can catch a dollar taxi off main street if you are patient to get to the other resorts on the island to take advatages of their offerings without paying their outragous prices. You will be real happy you stayed here after your trip. Next time I go t St Thomas I will stay at the Galleon House.

We had went sailing in the BVI for a week and wanted to stay in St. Thomas to relax for a night before we headed back to snowy Vermont. The Galleon House was a great pick! Although, if you don't like stairs, then is not the place for you. There are a lot of stairs to the check-in desk and more stairs to get to your room . If you like a good work out during your stay, then you will get it. The location was the best...walk to all the shops and restaurants. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was great. Nice pool and views. The only complaint I have about the hotel is it was noisy. The roosters were crowing all night. I kept thinking is was the morning. The are confused on the islands. We also had a group of guys staying next to us and they were quiet loud. I am sure that is hit ot miss. The windows and doors don't close solidly, so you can hear a lot more and also the noseeums(mosqitos type bug) can get into your room. So you wake up with a few bug bites. I guess it is a little like staying in a Cabana, but with air conditioning. All and all, if we had to do it again we would stay here instead of one of the luxury hotels, because of location, price and customer service.

We were delighted with Galleon House. It is old, but charming. The staff could not have been more accomodating with suggestions for activities and a truly wonderful breakfast. We would most definitely stay there again.

We always stay here, whether just for one night or several. Its close to everything, downtown, the airport, but especially the ferry to St Johns or BVI which shouldnt be missed. I dont understand why people stick themselves on a cruise ship with thousands of others when the only way to see the caribbean is island hopping on your own. Fly to STT and experience the islands without sleeping on the catte car. Galleon House has a fantastic pool, it is only a really short walk to downtown. And downtown St Thomas is the place to be once the cruise ship crowd goes back aboard and the streets are empty again. Dont spend a fortune staying at any other place. The views from the terrace are fantastic.

Yes there are alot of steps but welcome to St. Thomas there are steps all around the island. The bed and breakfast is awesome along with the house cleaning, the staff is very friendly. You are located in the center of all the attractions and shops that all in walking distance. Taxis are the only way of transportation on the island and a bit pricely. If you are here for the shops and site seeing this is the place to stay on the island. The top ten recomended sites of St Thomas all are within walking distance or a short taxi ride. The locals are very friendly and helpful with directions. Would stay again.
