The Berkshires, in western Massachusetts, is a region best known for its emphasis on culture and tourism. The area gets its name from the Berkshire Hills, and is also assumed to include parts of Vermont, New York and Connecticut in conversation.
Mount Greylock, at 3,491 feet, stands tallest in the area and the state, setting the stage for what is surely a nature-lover’s dream. Preservation is the word in this area full of diverse plant and animal species.
