Lebanon is a country in western Asia and is located on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Some of its major neighboring countries include Syria and Israel.

Many popular sightseeing attractions are found in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Past the outdoor restaurants and chic designer stores, visitors can see some historic landmarks like the Nejmeh Square and Solidere District, which was recently renovated into a shopping center after originally being destroyed in the country’s civil war. Beirut is also known for its Roman remnants including the Roman Berytus Columns, Roman Baths and Byzantine floor mosaics. Information about the historical structures, such as the Temple of Jupiter are depicted in some of Beirut’s popular museums such as the Robert Mouawad Museum and the Aida Cherfan Gallery. Locals and visitors can enjoy an array of performances and concerts that are held in several galleries and theaters throughout Beirut. To accompany the popular art scene, Lebanon also hosts annual internationl music festivals including Baalbeck International Festival and Beiteddine Festival.
