Bethlehem is a city located on the eastern edge of the state of Pennsylvania in Lehigh Valley. A small group of Moravians, a denomination of Protestanism, founded Bethlehem on Christmas Eve of 1741. Because of this important tie to Christmas, Bethlehem adopted the nickname “Christmas City, U.S.A.” and is known for its 81-foot high “Star of Bethlehem.” During the Christmas season, signs line the roadways and tell tourists to “Follow the Star to Bethlehem.”

Musikfest is a major festival held in Bethlehem each year. With more than 100 performers at the festival, it brings almost a million visitors to the area for the 10-day celebration.
