Frederiksted is a pretty Victorian-style town in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the second-largest town on St. Croix. It was an important historical trade port, and its red-and-white namesake Fort Frederik—complete with canons—was built by the Dutch in the late 1700s to fend off pirates; it’s now home to a museum.
