Plan your trip to Jackson, WY

Tucked in a gorgeous valley surrounded on all sides by mountains (indeed a hole of sorts), Jackson Hole, Wyoming is not far from Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, and serves as the gateway to these popular attractions. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the area has attracted the rich and famous (and Vice President Dick Cheney), many of whom have purchased summer homes in the valley. Their presence in the valley lends it a cosmopolitan feel, which presents an interesting counter point to the frontier feeling, and the rustic natural setting.  

Technically speaking Jackson Hole refers to the valley, while Jackson is the town within it, but these terms are often used interchangeably.
