Surrounded by countries like Venezuela, Colombia and Peru, the Federative Republic of Brazil is a country in South America. Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, is a World Heritage site that’s home to unique architectures such as the Television Tower, Brasilia’s Cathedral and the bridge over the Paranoá Lake. Parque Nacional de Brasilia is a popular place to see the capital’s natural attractions, including diverse vegetation and mineral springs. Lake Janauari Ecological Park and Adolpho Ducke Botanical Garden are among the other nature reserves located throughout Brazil. Tourists can also get a first-hand glimpse of the country’s array of species (including those facing extinction) by visiting the Zoological Gardens at the National Research Institute of Amazônia in Manaus.

Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas State, is a city on the Rio Negro that is the center for Brazil’s growing ecotourism. Visitors can take tours along the Amazon River, sunbathe at Ponta Negra beach, or go horseback-riding through the tropical wetland, Pantanal.
