Whistler

Whistler, in the province of British Columbia in Canada, is a popular skiing destination near Vancouver. The city will host most of the ski events for the 2010 Winter Olympics and is consistently ranked as one of the top three ski destinations in North America. With more than 5,000 feet of vertical drop and 8,000 acres of ski trails, it is one of the largest ski resorts on the continent.

During the summer time the skiing paradise turns into a biker's paradise. Single trails and fast race tracks with spectacular jumps can be reached comfortably by the chair lift carrying both biker and bike. Whistler also offers some excellent sport and climbing. There are a number of companies that specialize in outdoor adventure travel such as whitewater rafting on the Green or Elaho Rivers and ATV (all terrain vehicle) tours (to name a few examples). Depending on your particular tastes, some or all of these can be extremely entertaining and are generally professionally run.

Whistler Paintball is located only 5 minutes from Whistler Village. This is an excellent activity for groups or individuals. Many staff parties, birthday parties, family outings, corporate events, summer camps etc. choose to experience the adventure of paintballing in beautiful Whistler. Paintballing is for ages 12 and up. Whistler Paintball is open 7 days a week by appointment until October.

Bungee jumping is one of the most popular and talked-about Whistler activities all year long. This is one of only two bungee jump zones in British Columbia, so take advantage of this thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity while in Whistler. Whistler Bungee is located 8 km south of Function Junction. You jump from a pedestrian bridge that spans an awesome canyon while a whitewater river flows underneath. It's a 160-foot free fall to the bottom. Jump, swan dive, flip, or simply hold your breath and go limp. Whistler Bungee operates a convenient shuttle bus for hotel pick ups, or you can drive to the site yourself, just 15 minutes south of Whistler Village. No reservations are necessary in the summer season for groups under 10.
